Plan & Order - Criminal Justice Act

Application - Through its Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Plan, the Court is seeking applicants from attorneys who wish to serve as appointed contract counsel on criminal cases.  Attorneys may apply to be members of the CJA Panel or the CJA Mentee Attorney Program depending on experience. Any attorney requesting to be a new member of the CJA Panel or CJA Mentee Attorney Program must submit a completed application for membership no later than July 13, 2018.  Applications must be sent to the attention of Clerk of Court Gregory J. Linhares ( or by mail to 111 South Tenth Street, St. Louis, MO 63102).  For those selected, new CJA panel member terms will begin in October. This request is for new applicants only.  Existing CJA Members should use the Renewal Application if contacted.  

Renewal Application - As set forth in the Court's Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Plan, terms of CJA Panel Members will be staggered over three years for renewal.  One third of the panel has been randomly selected to apply for reappointment to the CJA Panel or Mentee Attorney Program.  Panel members in the first renewal group (2018) have been notified by email through the Court's eVoucher system.  A member of the CJA Panel or Mentee Attorney Program who wishes to be considered for reappointment must complete the renewal application and submit it to the attention of the Clerk of Court Gregory J. Linhares ( or by mail to 111 South Tenth Street, St. Louis, MO  63102) no later than July 13, 2018.  Renewal applicants may be interviewed by members of the Court's CJA Committee or its designees prior to readmission to the panel or mentee program.  For those selected, new terms will begin in October 2018 and last through September 2021.  If you did not receive a renewal notification, your renewal will take place in the second round (2019) or third round (2020).  Your membership term continues and there is nothing for ou to do with the renewal process at this time.
