Securites and Exchange Commission v.Morriss et al
On January 17, 2012, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed its Complaint for Injunctive and Other Relief against Defendants Burton Douglas Morriss, Acartha Group, LLC, MIC VII, LLC, Acartha Technology Partners, L.P., Gryphon Investments III, LLC, and Morriss Holdings, LLC, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri (the “SEC Case”).
Also on January 17, 2012, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri appointed Claire M. Schenk as Receiver over Acartha Group, LLC, MIC VII, LLC, Acartha Technology Partners, L.P., and Gryphon Investments III, LLC (collectively, the “Receivership Entities”). The Court’s Order establishes the Receiver as the Receivership Entities’ sole administrator and directs and empowers her to manage the business affairs, funds, and property of the Receivership Entities.
