This position is located in the U.S. District Court and reports to the Chief Judge. Services are provided to all judges of the Court. The incumbent is responsible for providing analysis of initial pleadings filed by prisoners and pro se in forma pauperis (AIFP@) litigants in non-prisoner civil cases. The pro se law clerk is also responsible for initial review of state and federal habeas cases. The Eastern District of Missouri currently consists of eighteen authorized judicial officers, and has divisional offices in Cape Girardeau and Hannibal, MO. Travel within the district may be required.
